Estonian Theatre Festival 2014. The Art of Presence.

Estonian theatre yearbook Teatrielu 2013

Presentation: 2.09/at 16.00/ in Festival Club

Estonian theatre yearbook Teatrielu 2013 is based on the broad and in essence a hermeneutic definition of theatre  where it is understood to be a system of long-term intertwined processes which support
each other. The aim of the present collection is to highlight the tendencies which are at
work behind and around productions both on the level of the society and the discipline, for
example, the role of theatre in creating identities, copyright, the influence of technology
on the development of theatre, reception of theatrical works or economic pressure. All this
influences the contemporary theatre scene and elaborating on these topics in the longer
overview format allowed by “Teatrielu” will hopefully offer new ways for interpreting the
most visible part of theatre arts meaning the productions.

Authors featured in Teatrielu 2013 are Anneli Saro, Laura Gröndhal, Rait Avestik, Ruth
Alaküla, Andres Laasik, Auri Jürna, Ott Karulin, Heili Einasto, Monika Larini, Roland
Leesment, Enn Siimer, Laur Kaunissaare, Kerttu Männiste, Berk Vaher, Piret Verte and the
discussion round includes the opinions of Liisa Hirsch, Ardo Ran Varres, Ivar Põllu.
For the second year in a row, the collection also includes the statistics of Estonian theatres
compiled by the Estonian Theatre Agency.

Entry to the book launch event is free, recently printed collections will be sold on site.
