Estonian Theatre Festival 2013. The Magic of Space.

During the festival, a parallel programme reveals the secrets of the Magic of Space outside the theatre walls and on the streets of Tartu. The invisible becomes visible during the festival week – the work of scenographers is brought into the spotlight.

The pop-up exhibition “27”, curated by Maret Kukkur, brings  the solo exhibitions of 27 set designers into the urban space of  Tartu in a gallery made of shipping containers. The exhibition  celebrates the 20th jubilee of the Association of Estonian Set  Designers.

The stage model and costume exhibition “Time and Space”, curated by the scenographer Maarja Meeru, is held in the exhibition house of the Estonian National Museum on 3.09–1.10 and  the historical costume section is open in the main building of  Tartu train station on 2.09–8.09.

The scenic art exhibition by the decorator-scenic art students at  UT Viljandi Culture Academy called “Puust(?) ja punaseks“ is  displayed during the festival on the ground floor of the exhibition house of the Estonian National Museum.

In addition, theatre art multimedia students present their  works on the streets and a theatre posters exhibition is held.
